Hi guys! One thing I've seen people do before is make a map in google maps. If you already have a google account that will speed up the process. Go to maps.google.com and click on "my maps" to start making a new map. You can add your own placemarks and lines to show people your route and where you're staying each night. You can add comments to the placemarks too. I don't know if/how you could integrate the map with the blog, but you could at least have a link to it I suppose.
I created a map with the place names you posted. It's called C&L cross country at http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid= 107585128708090206048.00046d927390568464998 or http://tinyurl.com/kq9a76
I set it up so anyone can edit it, feel free to add details.
